New York Mets Press Release
FLUSHING -- The New York Mets announced today that they are changing the name of their new stadium. The brand new facility, which is to open in Spring of 2009, was set to be named Citi Field. Today Citigroup officials announced that they recently realized that the logo for Citi Field looks strikingly similar to that of fast food pizza chain, Domino's Pizza, and decided to merge companies.
The new stadium is now to be dubbed Citi Domino's Pizza Field.
Mets Manager Jerry Manuel, reached by phone, said, "man I like those Domino's Oreo Dessert Pizzas."
